It seems like I had more to say before I had a blog! Now, it's been 2 days and I have nothing noteworthy to speak of. Guess that means I'll throw out whatever comes to mind.
I just lifted my head to cough and noticed a cobweb on top of the ceiling fan in the living room. Any guesses as to how long I'll let it stay there? :)
I spent a good chunk of yesterday cleaning up. Laundry, kitchen, vacuuming, cleaning grout, washing (a couple) windows, cleaning the downstairs bathroom, washing the "casings" on the couch. It's always satisfying to see the house sparkle. It's also equally aggravating trying to keep it that way until Ryan gets home! I found myself getting ticked off at crumbs on the floor. Hm. Maybe it was time for a Mommy time-out? Or maybe it was just a combination of the fact that I had kept telling a certain 3 year old (who shall remain nameless) to stop brushing the crumbs off his highchair...only for him to continue until I was standing directly in front of him. The jury's still out on whether or not there was actually steam coming from my ears. :) It's not that I'm always freaking out about crumbs on the floor. Yesterday, I guess I was just "done" with it all. Well, that and, disobedience drives me rather batty, as well. lol
Cash is starting to talk more. Trey was talking much sooner, but Cash-man is coming along. This morning ,when I offered him toast, he pushed it away and said, "no." Then I tried giving him his bottle and he did the same thing. Later, when I was bringing him downstairs, like we so often do, I stopped at the landing, pointed in the mirror and said, "Who's that?" It caught me completely by surprised when Cash said, "Das". Then I asked him again to say "Cash"...and he said, "Das." Yay. Go, Weeze!
A couple nights ago, I woke Trey up at about 11:00 to bring him to the bathroom. He's practically comatose throughout the process, but as I laid him back in bed, I decided to say quick prayers since the past 2 nights he had fallen asleep before actually being put in bed. So, I start....Mind you, I'm whispering, and Trey is sound asleep. They are quick prayers, nothing fancy. Just as I'm about to finish, I hear Trey mumble something. "What did you say?" He says it again; "Uncle Donnie, Aunt Pam and Ryan..." I smiled. Of course! Even in quick prayers, Trey knows it's important to pray for them!
This coming Saturday is the St. Jude Trike-a-thon. I sure hope everything runs smoothly! I'm excited to see how much money the little ones can raise for St. Jude. Every little bit helps. Online, last I checked, there was around $350. But that's not including the donations that have been made on the sponsor sheets the kids have.
Ryan's mom (Trish) is coming on April 21st. She called yesterday to talk to Trey and told him she was bringing Starburst and a Slip-n-Slide. I wish I had a video camera rolling. His face lit up and his mouth gaped open. He was super excited...even if he didn't know what a Slip-n-Slide was. After I explained it to him, he wanted me to keep "showing him" what we could do on it, and then he wanted me to show Cash. :) I hope the weather cooperates. That kid doesn't forget a thing. He'll be asking to use it the minute we pick her up from the airport!
I wonder where Tim Tebow will go in the draft? I'm kind of smitten with him. haha But that's okay. Ryan knows. And Ryan loves Tony Romo...so we're even. :)
What to do for dinner? Pizza's always a good option, especially since I've only have one chicken breast and a little bit of ground beef. Much better than frying up french fries or onion rings (*ahem*). Or, as I like to call them, "bullseyes". lol
Oh dear mercy...! Trey is bringing in all his trucks and cars from outside...which are full of DIRT!
